SWIMMING
We are going to change the years which go swimming from September. This is because we have been advised that swimming should be on the curriculum through key Stage 2.
The new programme for swimming will be as follows:-
|
Autumn |
Spring |
Summer |
|
Year 6 |
Year 3 |
Year 3 |
|
Year 4 |
Year 4 |
Year 5 |
This means that younger children starting in Year 3 have four terms of swimming. Years 5 and 6 have one term each.
Please note, Year 6 and Year 4 parents, that those children will need to be ready to start swimming in early September.
GOODBYE:
We are sad to say goodbye to one member of staff this Summer. Lisa Clutterbuck leaves from Class 2 in the Centre after many years as a full time and a part time teacher. She will be greatly missed both by staff and children. She is moving on to a full time job at a Special School nearer her home in Ashford.
Jane Gross will be taking over the one day a week role, working in a job share with Maggi Faulkner. Jane is an experienced SEN Teacher who has worked on Supply in Class 2.
THANK YOU TO B&Q AND AYLESFORD AQUATICS:
Thank you to B&Q for giving us a discount for the benches the children use at Lunchtime. Also to Aylesford Aquatics who donated some toys and also gave us a discount on playground toys.
Good bye and good luck to all Year 6 children, who leave to go on to their Secondary Schools.

NEW RECEPTION TEACHER:
Many of you may have seen the advertisement about the need for a new Reception Teacher. Joan Welti is going to continue to help out on a Supply basis until we have appointed in the Autumn.
CONTACT:
We do encourage working parents to use email if necessary to explain absence or warn of forthcoming appointments or to ask questions either of the senior staff, the office or individual teachers. Nothing can replace face to face contact and we still would like to see parents to discuss any concerns.
PACKETS OF FRUIT:
We are hoping that the Year 6 children will be running a small tuck shop from September. They will be stocking packets of dried fruit at a cost of 20p each. If you would like your children to buy this dried fruit please send in the money daily. This will remain the responsibility of your child until break time.
PARENTS’ PRAYER GROUP MEETINGS:
Everybody is welcome to join us. Come and pray for the School.

THANK YOU TO PARENTS AND CARERS:
Thank you to all parents and carers for all the support over the year. We were very encouraged to read such supportive comments in receipt of their reports.
As we have said, the best education for our children will be achieved by all of us working in partnership. We welcome both supportive and constructive criticism in order to ensure the best for your children.
We hope everyone enjoys a relaxing Summer Holiday, and that the sun continues to shine!
