To ensure a safe, caring and happy School
To prevent bullying
Rewards
Star Cards:
Children can get stars for a variety of achievement, including good work and behaviour, greater effort or being helpful. Once a child has collected 10 stars they will be rewarded with a shiny sticker (in KS1) or a certificate (in KS2).
At the end of each term children with the most stars in a class get a prize. There will be prozes at the end of the year for those children whose work and behaviour has been outstanding.
Badges:
Teachers will be able to award three metal badges each week: one each for effort, good kind behaviour and environmental care. The badges will be worn for one week and then returned for the next week's award.
All awards will be given in assemblies so that a large number of children recognise and congratulate good behaviour and work.
A Headteacher's Award may be given at the Head Teacher's discretion. The main reward for all good behaviour and hard work will always be praise from the staff and other children.
Attendance:
Children win prizes for 100% attendance through the year.

- Physical : Hitting, kicking, taking belongings
- Verbal : Name calling, insulting, racial remarks
- Indirect : Spreading nasty stories or excluding someone from social groups
We take all the reports of bullying very seriously and investigate each incident carefully. We encourage all our children to "TELL" if they are frightened or anxious about anything or anybody in School. We investigate with sensitivity and concern.

Offensive language may not just be recognised swear words but any words or signs that offend others: eg racial comments.
Any child who uses offensive language will be given a letter to be take home, a copy of which will be kept on file. KS2 children will have to write down the words they used.
Exit Letter
An Exit Letter is given to children who are sent out of class. The child may have to write an explanation of events which is kept on file and a copy sent home.

Exclusion can be:

Links With Home
The Home/School Agreement should provide a sound foundation upon which to meet the aims of the Behaviour Policy.
Parents will be kept informed of a child's behaviour. If the behaviour needs more regular monitoring a home/school contact book may be started. Both teacher and parents may write in this book.
Please keep in touch with us and let the staff know if there is anything happening at home which may affect your child's work or behaviour. Also contact us if you have any worries concerning their behaviour in the School.
The School's Senior Management Team will be monitoring the progress of the children and their behaviour each week. The staff evaluate the success of this Behaviour and Discipline Policy regularly and your comments are most welcome.
"We believe it is important to set boundaries for children's behaviour, and that good discipline can be a positive experience in a child's development." DfES |
